Blessed Be This Home Tile
This tile was inspired by an archeological finding. The image of the pomegranate and the dates represents abundance, fertility, and a long life. It also blesses the home, for health, love, and prosperity.
Sundial of Jerusalem
Sundial clocks were built thousands of years ago by the people of the East, the Greeks and the Romans.
The Sundial clock is built on the principle of the sun casting a shadow on a thin (an olive branch in this design), straight edge onto a flat surface marked with lines indicating the hours of the day.
In order for the Sundial to function correctly it has to be positioned so that 12:00 noon points to the true North. The Sun's movement through the day casts its shadow on the Olive Branch and it will show the time of the day.
Nowadays clocks and watches keep this tradition by having the dials move from left to right. The same movement as the shadow on the sun dial. It moves from West to East, opposite the sun's movement from East to West.
The ancient Hebrew writing on the clock sends its blessing to the sun.
Facing East to Jerusalem, Wall Ornament
MIZRACH
This symbolic plate with the inscription of the word Mizrach meaning east represents Jerusalem. The Holy Ark in a Jewish prayer place always faces east to Jerusalem. In many Jewish homes you can find this Symbolic plate that enables the individual to pray in his own home with the devotion to Jerusalem.
Longing for Jerusalem Wall Ornament
This plate has the engraving of the West Wall in Jerusalem. The West Wall is the closest wall to the Holy of holies, the Beit HaMikdash (Salomon’s Temple). The plate represents the Jewish longing through the ages for Jerusalem. The engraving was inspired by a nineteen century temple etching.
Hamsa meaning five represents a hand and its five fingers. The Hamsa is a popular relic in the Middle East.
The Hamsa is believed to protect against the Evil Eye, and bad wishers. It can be found in many homes close to the entrance door.
